Air traffic control in New Zealand, however, has just been privatised and is in the process of being taken over by a corporation rich in seedy and unethical characters looking to make their own fortune out of the deal. To make matters worse, Tom finds "lying low" harder than it sounds. He hadn't planned on his first assignment, Milton Gorge Tower - otherwise known as Exile Tower - to be staffed by lunatics: including Flynn, who may or may not be a domestic terrorist; the beautiful, seductive and power hungry, Amanda, who sees Tom and has some serious business on her mind; or Thornie, a man who seems permanently stuck in 1962. Nor had he expected to rise through the ranks and be embraced by the corporate men he would most like to avoid: Freddie Moore, the consummate con-man and his long-suffering sidekick Carlton Woodcock, who have their own, separate, plans for him.

To face his future, Tom is forced to face his past, a powerful corporation and risk losing the chance at once-in-a-lifetime love.

Once again Myers defies genre with a murder mystery-corporate corruption-thriller-romance. A fictional tale set against the beautiful backdrop of New Zealand, a land Myers knows well but also with three decades experience in aviation and air traffic control behind him, it seems the novel he was born to write. Dan Myers' talents take you deep inside the head and heart of the air traffic controller and the man looking to find his place in the world. Witty, sharp prose that will have you caring about the characters long after you've turned the last page.

What people are saying about Corporate Blue

Not only is this a cheerful, satirical look at the operations of big companies, it is also a very funny story…. Excellent reading.

Northern Advocate 10 May 2008

The book is suspenseful, humorous, risky and a mystery-romance all wrapped into one very tightly wound package. I couldn't put it down…. Dan's combination of air traffic experience...both here and down under...and his Kiwi humor and phraserisms make for a thoroughly enjoyable ride and a must-have for anyone with jet fuel in their veins. Order the book...if you are an aviation junkie, an air traffic junkie, or just a damn good book junkie you'll be glad you did!!!

John Carr's, former president of National Air Traffic Controllers Association January 2008

To say Corporate Blue is a 'page turner' or that it 'pushes the limits' does not do it justice. It's all that and more, it's full of funny, three dimensional characters that pull you into a corporate world filled with humor, deceit, lust and murder, and makes you seriously wonder who in the hell are manning those control towers!

Paul Cleave, author of The Cleaner and Cemetery Lake

Horace wrote that ‘poetry should delight and instruct’ and we certainly find it in Myers’ second novel Corporate Blue. While one could easily be caught up in the page turning speed of the novel, it would be a disservice to the author to neglect its bombastic, comedic properties. Corporate Blue is very funny. So, flip the pages, enter the world of air traffic control, and laugh out loud.

Ben Greer, author of Slammer and Murder in the Holy City

Fasten your seat belts for a wild ride. In this sharp, mordant, persistently funny, outrageous and scary book, Myers has kicked the chocks out from under air traffic control and the corporate world. After reading Corporate Blue you'll never want to fly again!
